Downes Corporate Services clients include Westpac, Reuters, GE, AMP, T-Corp NSW, Reckon Limited, CBA, Capital Investors and Colonial.
RECKON LIMITED
Graham Downes and his team were originally engaged to look at the Quality Assurance aspects of a project relating to a software program. The Downes Corporate Services process, IP and project management skills were so useful and impressive in reporting and tracking the project’s milestones that the client asked Graham to scope the entire project. The DCS processes and IP then ran the project and achieved the business objectives within the agreed timeframe and budget.
AMP – First Project
The e Downes Corporate Services team, led by Graham Downes, has enabled the successful completion of several projects for AMP. In the first instance they were called in with six weeks remaining of a nine month project – the project was incredibly behind schedule with no testing underway and numerous other outstanding items. By careful steering, extensive planning, scheduling and resource allocation, the DCS process turned around an impossible situation and delivered on time, to the quality levels required and passed Quality Assurance testing with flying colours.
AMP – Second Project
After their initial success, AMP invited e Downes Corporate Services to come back and work on the second phase of a major CRM project. They recognised the power of DCS IP in managing and testing the elements of the project. Again, this project was delivered on time, on budget, to the quality levels with no overtime.
The internal Program Manager at AMP said “I’ve read about it and NEVER seen it done before”!
AMP – Third Project
When AMP had a significant IT infrastructure project they immediately spoke with Graham Downes and requested that a Downes Corporate Services team be available to manage the specifying of the machines required and to work with internal resources to ensure the successful implementation of Peoplesoft. DCS’ responsibility was once again to deliver on time and on budget to specified quality levels and that’s what they did.
AMP – Fourth Project
Graham Downes was asked to act as an Implementation Manager in a
tri-partnered project with Accenture. Once again the unique and highly robust Downes Corporate Services processes, IP and project management skills were essential in completing the project to the clients needs, on time and on budget.
NSW Treasury (T-Corp NSW)
Downes Corporate Services was engaged as Project Delivery specialists to complete the implementation of the Reuters Kondor suite of software for NSW Treasury (T-Corp NSW).
We adopted our comprehensive project risk profiling combined with our unique Project Delivery Intellectual Property and partnering approach to manage the project. We managed the relationship between all the stakeholders – vendor, client, staff and DCS.
It was our ability to provide transparent, accurate, easy to understand, timely information throughout the project that ensured its successful completion in August 2009.
The specific principles we applied to this project included:
A partnering approach, involving:
•	Openness, transparency and clear communication to build trust and mutual understanding
•	Clarity of roles, responsibilities, goals and “ground rules”
•	Commitment of core organisational competencies by all parties
•	Application of professional rigour and discipline focused on achieving targets and deliverables
•	Respect for differences in approach, competence, timeframes and objectives of all parties
•	Focus on achieving mutual benefit in a manner that enables the partners to meet their own objectives as well as common goals
A partnering based relationship has now been established but will require ongoing commitment by all parties to maintain the health of that partnership.
